Lucas County Alerts 

Lucas County Alerts is an emergency alert notification system provided by Lucas County. The system is free to sign up (normal message rates may apply, check with your phone service provider), and anyone who lives or works in Lucas County is encouraged to sign up.  

Alerts can be programmed to go out by geographic area, so we ask everyone to share his or her home address. If you only work in Lucas County, feel free to put in your work address instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Lucas County Alerts different from the City of Toledo Alerts, Monclova Alerts, etc? 

Lucas County Alerts sends out emergency alerts - snow emergency levels, tornado warnings, evacuation or shelter in place orders, etc. 

Some communities within Lucas County have chosen to create their own alerts for community events, road closures, leaf or trash pick up, etc. Go to to see if your community has this option. 

What do I do if I want to sign up for alerts and live outside of the county or don't see my city, township or village listed?  

You will still receive the emergency alerts for Lucas County without checking any of the boxes for a specific jurisdiction. This can be a good option for people who work in the county but don't live here, or who have family member who live here and want to aware of severe weather in the area. 

Why is there no option for phone calls? 

In an emergency situation, text messages and emails are much faster than voice calls, even automated ones.
