Drug Court
The Drug Court of the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas General Division provides specialized supervision and treatment for defendants whose dependency upon substance use results in criminal penalties. The Drug Court program is an aggressive model with proven success.
The Drug Court assistant prosecutor is present at treatment team meetings and status review hearings serving in a non-adversarial role. These hearings monitor the participants' performance and progress . The assistant prosecutor ensures the protection of victims' rights and public safety via the recommendation of sanctions and incentives for participants.
The Lucas County Prosecutor's Office fully supports the Drug Court program. The drug epidemic has resulted in devastating consequences for drug users, victims, families, law enforcement and our surrounding community. Those who voluntarily participate in the program seek to end their addiction thus improving the quality of their lives and furthering the public's security.
