       Benefit Changes: COVID-19

The national public health emergency declared in 2020 is set to expire on May 11, 2023, which will prompt some changes to your benefits. Here's what you can expect:

  • COVID-19 tests conducted by an in-network health care professional will continue to be covered, but your copay will now be applied. This had been a $0 cost to you during the public health emergency.

  • Monoclonal antibody treatments or antivirals for COVID-19 also will continue to be covered, but your copay will now be applied. This also had been a $0 cost to you during the public health emergency.

  • Over-the-counter tests for COVID-19 will no longer be covered.

  • You will be charged copay or coinsurance, per your benefits, for services related to a COVID-19 diagnosis. This had been suspended in some cases during the public health emergency.

  • COVID vaccines and booster shots will continue to be covered at no cost.

  • Telehealth visits for a variety of conditions also will continue to be covered.
